Q&A — Rated capacity explained
Q: Why is the battery listed as 24,000 mAh but the rated capacity lower?
A: The 24,000 mAh figure refers to the internal cell capacity at ~3.7V. When converted and stepped up to 5V for device output there is energy loss in conversion and thermal dissipation. After typical conversion and efficiency losses the usable (rated) capacity is around 13,680 mAh — a normal and expected difference.
